Hey guys.. I'm planning to take AICT for AS/A2 but some of my teacher who don't teach that but know something about the subject said it's a very hard subject and globally rarely have people get an A or A* for A2...

I don't have other source of information so is that real? Basically I don't believe is a tough subject.

And.... My first language is not English, but my English is not that rubbish, also the vocabulary on computer is quite good I think.... So is there a language problem for me to take it? Also my choice on other subjects are Eco,Phy,Math and of course Eng....

Well... Of course something related with computer. I actually much prefer Networking or handling solution for people. I don't really interested it programming. so in fact, AICT quite match with me... But still I'm worrying about wether it's hard to get good grade because of some other characteristic of the subject it own....

Let me tell you something. AICT is all pretty much a business subject. It teaches one how to master Microsoft Office (The Practicals).. And Use Microsoft Office for Accounting/Managing Database/Create a Publication/Presentation for Advertisement and stuff like that.

There are 2 practicals (total weightage 60%) and 2 theory papers (Total weightage 40%).. Practicals are what I mentioned above.

The theory is all rutta though.. The main problem with this paper (And why people do poorly in this subject) is that the theory paper in AICT is consists of around 6 to 7 questions each with 2 or 3 sub-parts.. The Question paper consists of roughly 20 pages.. And the total time one has is 1hr 15 minutes to solve this..

If you are not good in time management or you're like me (and require at least a minute or two to think before answering) Then I would suggest that you stay away from this subject.

But If you're good in the above mentioned things.. And would like to learn how to use Microsoft Office in real-life situations.. I would say go for it. Otherwise It will be pretty much useless for you.. And you already have a hard enough combination...

AS ICT is not a difficult subject Theory is fine.. its just you need to know the book and practice papers.. there's not much of thinking and applying unlike the science subjects. Practicals is abit tough you need to practice aloot to get hold of it.. This is just from my experience i'm telling. =)
