Pakistan joined UN for three important reasons:
Firstly, as a new-born independent state Pak was anxious to be recognised as an independent state in the world community. Since India was already a member even before 1947 , pakistan was keen to get its membership.

secondly, just after the partition, pakistan was faced with the problems of accession of states Junagarh, Hyderabad and Kashmir. It was vital for Pakistan to seek the membership in order to present its case effectively before the security council. Furthermore, on 1st April 1948, shut off the water supplies flowing into Pakistan from the Ferozpur headworks in east punjab. (Canal Water Dispute). SO to find a solution to such problems Pakistan joined UN. UNO supported pakistan by helping it draw a treaty with India(INDUS WATER TREATY) with the help of world bank.

Thirdly, Pakistan was keen to play its role in supporting the independence struggle for various Asian and AFrican countries. So to play its role as a peaceful nation against colonization, racial discrimination, territorial and regional aggression, Pakistan joined UNO in september 1947.

there were a few vital reasons that compelled Pakistan to join the un. firstly right after the independence, Pakistan was facing problems with the territory between them and India. this and Pakistan wanted to be quickly recognized by other international countries and un was an international forum. joining un would give them a chance to speak up upon the humanitarian problems all the Muslim and Asian countries were facing. but the most important reason was the Kashmir issue, canal water dispute, Junagadh, Hyderabad issue on which Pakistan was very passionate to solve.
