U - below 50%same question here....
Suppose the paper coming this May/June 2012 for Add Maths is quiet easy...........so the normal grade boundary will be 90% For A* and 80% for A ?U - below 50%
E- 50% minimum
D- 55% minimum
C-60% minimum
B- 70% minimum
A- 80% minimum
A*- 90% minimum
These are the general boundaries . These can be changed according to percentile .
If the exam was too tough the the examiners will lower the grade thresholds to allow maximum number of candidates to acquire a satisfactory grade ; all thresholds are lowered so you might end up with a higher grade then you expected.
If it was too easy , examiners might elevate the thresholds to minimize the number of A graders , in order to distinguish among the stronger and weaker candidates.
yes , but if too many candidates start getting above 80% , they will move the A grade to 85% . And consequently , the A* to 95% .Suppose the paper coming this May/June 2012 for Add Maths is quiet easy...........so the normal grade boundary will be 90% For A* and 80% for A ?
