how do we test a broad bean for its protein content?
i knw the test with biuret reagents bt hv sm confusion, cn any1 explain it to me in detail?

and also oct/nov 2004 p6 Q1 (a)

I remember reading in the textbook about how to test food for protein content.

You have to chop up the food (in this case the broad bean), and put it in a test tube with some water. Then add some potassium hydroxide solution and 2 drops of copper sulfate solution.

Then shake the tube. If a purple color appears, then protein is present.
