AS/A2 Confusion

If one has for example, a B in Business Studies AS in May June 2013. He appears for A2 in Oct Nov 2013 and gets a E or U A level grade. Now can he retake A2 in May June 2014 with the AS B of M/J 13, or is that grade written off, would he have to do composite then? Confused.

I'm guessing, you will have to reappear only alevels but carrying forward the as marks.you have to specify
That's why there r different codes. Like by ,cy ,cz.
