AS Maths Book for SELF STUDY - P1

Hey,

Could anyone recommend a good book for self study that explains things and tells us how to answer questions for AS syllabus ? I have the CIE Pure Mathematics but it is pathetic in terms of self study and not very helpful for me. Any suggestions ?
