-interference :- when two or more waves meet at a point causing an overall change in the intesity and/or displacement equal to the sum of the individual displacements
-coherence :- when the wave differenc b/w waves is constant
-antinode :- position where amplitude of vibration is max
-node :- position where amplitude of vibration in zero
-principle of superpostion :- when two or more waves meet , the resultant displacement is the sum of the individual displacements of the waves overlapping
- to distinguish stationary waves from progressive waves we say the stationary waves transfer no energy , have nodes and antinodes and have neighbouring points which vibrate inpahse
- when waves are in phase ( phase difference= n*wavelength ) constructive interference occurs
-when waves are out of pahse ( phase difference= (n+1/2)*wavelength) destructive interference occurs
-the speed of a stationary wave is the speed of the wave formed by superposition of the 2 interfering waves
