I'm thinking of giving AS level Travel and Tourism in November. Do you think I can give them by studying privately because my school doesn't offer. : and does any one know where I can find notes for it??

Help me guys, I'm really confused :?

@Arlery

It is virtually impossible to self-study travel and tourism , as paper 2 requires of you to do a project which needs to be continuously monitored by a Cambridge approved tutor , as it involves interviews etc... It is also required of you to work in a group for this project , it involves allot of group determined marks

I suggest you to not take it if your school does not offer it , unless you have a private travel and tourism registered teacher who can monitor your paper 2 project

Hope I helped

Take ICT

If you gonna do AS then this subject is an absolute "breeze"

Paper 1 is theory
Paper 2 is a practical paper (Very easy paper , nothing to worry about , just know the basics of MS Excel and MS Access)

The A level part of this subject is not too bad

Hope I helped :)

This is the CIE endorsed book book for Applied ICT : Applied ICT for A and AS Level by Brown, G and Sargent, B [Cambridge University Press]

You should be able to buy this off amazon.com

i don't think amazon services are available where I live, anyways, can you tell me which one is easier computing or Applied ICT.
I got an A* in IGCSE ICT, but I have no idea about a level ICT

Computing is harder than ICT :)

Don't attempt to take Computing if you haven't done Computer studies for IGCSE , this is because computing has a whole paper 2 which revolves around programmes and algorithms which is probably the most extensive and hardest section of the computing syllabus , especially if you wan't to do it self-study

Computing is considered a much higher rated subject than ICT , universities often discredit ICT and highly recommend to rather take computing especially if you are going into a IT Field

But I would recommend you to take ICT , as you want to do it self-study . You can attempt computing but I can assure you that it will be tough especially when it comes to Paper 2 .

I am currently taking Computing for AS/A Level , work is very similar to that of IGCSE Computer studies. Paper 1 of computing AS/A level is very similar to paper 1 of ICT.

If you are going to take ICT for AS level you don't really need a textbook as the work is very similar to that of ICT for IGCSE. You just gotto apply your basic knowledge! Practising in MS Excell and MS Access via using past paper 2's will really help you.

Hope I helped , feel free to ask any more questions :) !!

Do you know where I could find ICT notes. I think I might be able to get the CIE endorsed book . Any way, I'm giving AS Maths, Physics, Business Studies this June, and probably AS English Language and Applied ICT this november. Do you think 3 months is sufficient to prepare for the exam ?

Or is it better to give it next June? I'm not sure asbout giving it next June because I'll be giving A2 Maths, Physics and Business Studies. I have to take these subjects as the uni. I want to go to requires them, and extra As always help.

I'm still not sure about Sociology, though I can get the CIE endorsed book. However, if I do give it, I'll be studying privately. Can you advice me on which would be the best option?

My best recommendation is that you take your AS Maths, Physics, Business Studies this June . 3 months is sufficient!

Give me your email address , I will email you some notes which are useful for both ICT/COMPUTING both AS and A levels. Use the syllabus to see which of the notes is relevant for you to study. Don't take sociology privately , abit hard , ICT is much more easier.

Hope I helped :)
