Also, can someone tell me what's the difference between a chromatid and a DNA molecule?

These questions seem to be the same but the answers are different. :/

So, in interphase the chromosomes double, I get that.
So in humans the number of chromosome pairs will be 46 (92 chromatid) correct? But what about the number of DNA molecules?

In the other one (Fruit fly) the chromosome number is 8. That means after interphase the chromosome number must be 16 (32 chromatid) so what's the number of DNA molecules?

Thank you.

ok..i said little wrong..!! 1 chromosome contains 2 molecules of DNA....and there are 8 chromosomes ...now as we know..we can count the number in prophase, means its the number of at the prophase....which is 8...so 8 chromosomes contain 16 molecules of DNA...

for the other one...!! one Chromosome contains 2 DNA molecules.. the number of chromosome is 46..which is at prophase....so 46 chromosomes contain 92 chromatids similarly 92 molecules of DNA!

and for the below one...! obviously A and C are negleted.....and now before it enters prophase...DNA gets replicated..means...previous..there will b 46 DNA molecules...after replication..there wil b 92 DNA MOLECULES......so answer is D

Didn't you say in the previous post that 2 chromatids make up one DNA molecule? Doesn't that mean that in a human cell there are 23 DNA molecules before entering interphase?
