Causes of antibiotic resistance

1) when a non resistant bacteria conjugates with a resistant one
2) Increased / prolonged usage of the same drug & administration to a lot of victims/ people (healthy ones ... Vaccines )
3) Genetically engineered for bio-warfare
4) Genetically engineered bacteria for sake of human welfare might develop resistance towards drugs (I'm not sure bout this point .. pls . cross check)

effects of antibiotic resistance

1) Increased survival rate of bact.
2) larger dosage of anti-biotics might be required to kill the bacteria
3) the non-resistant strain will be slowly wiped out because of natural selection
4) the new strain might cause a epidemic as the drugs don t work properly or in some cases DO NOT WORK at all
