There's a confusion in our class. Are marks awarded for error carried forward in biology or they get further deducted?

If they said recognize a vessel and you said artery instead of vein
and then they said tell its characteristics and you told arteries' characteristics
you will get a zero, there is no ECF in theory stuff

It is because it can be misused. Say the identification is of one mark, but since you dont know the characteristics of the right one you write the wrong option and wrong's characteristics and hence score full 4 in second part.

You better check 1-2 examiners reports and mark schemes for yourself in case you still have doubts.
