Oh, I wasn't sure, in may/june we had to do an enzyme experiment with hydrogen peroxide, and also draw plan diagram of arteries and veins. Hope it's easier this time though =/
O/N papers are usually harder than M/J right? Do you know if the board will check winter session paper more strictly than m/j? is there any pattern?
Can you please help me with the unknowns thing ??

does anyone know how to do dilutions??
if a solution of example 4% sugar is given to you and its 30 cm3
If you wanna make 2% sugar concentration solution u take like 10cm3 of the 4% solution and add 10cm3 distilled water name it example A
now you wanna make 1% sugar solution so you take 10cm3 of the solution you prepared(A) and 10cm3 of distilled water then name it B
now you wanna make a third one of 0.5% sugar, add 10cm3 of solution u made (B) and 10cm3 of distilled water and call it C and sooo on
so just make sure cuz in the question they ask us to maintain the volume like to make it upto what just make sure about that
i guess thats called serial dilution! Now idk what to prepare for tomorrow! im scared of plan diagrams and when they ask us to draw a part of a given picture its pretty much messed up! God help us :c

there are two types of dilutions you can do: 1. one in ten dilution. and 2. using the formula c1v1=c2v2

Using the c1v1=c2v2 formula: C1 is the concentration of the solution you are given. C2 is the concentration you decide to make. V2 is the total volume of the solution you want to make. eg 10 cm3. And V1 is what you have to calculate, this is the volume of the original sample that you want to dilute.
Add the volume V1 to a test tube and make it upto 10cm3 by adding water.

One in ten dilution: take 1cm3 of the soultion given and add 9cm3 of water. This would produce a concentration that is 10x more dilute than the original one. Then take 1cm3 of the diluted solution and add 9cm3 of water. This would again make the solution more dilute. And so on.

Guys, what ratio should be used for the volume of benedict : volume of sampling solution?
2 : 1 is fine, right ?

well these all slides are in the syllabus, so im going through them atm:
• Mitosis and meiosis
• Anther and ovule
• Pollen, stamen and stigma of wind-pollinated and insect-pollinated plant, vs maize fruit
• ts stem, ts root and ts leaf of a dicotyledonous xerophyte (such as Erica or Ammophila or local
equivalent)
• ts stem, ts root and ts leaf of a dicotyledonous mesophyte (such as Ligustrum or Prunus or local
equivalent)
• Trachea and lungs
• Pancreas
• Arteries/veins/capillaries
• Blood smear
Kidney•
• ts spinal cord
• Ovary and testis
• ts maize leaf, ts rice leaf, ts rice stem, ts rice root, ts sorghum leaf, ts wheat leaf
• Animal and plant cells
• Examples of organisms representing the other three Kingdoms; Protoctista (e.g. Amoeba, Euglena
or locally available equivalents); Prokaryotae (e.g. bacterial smear, cyanobacteria); Fungi (e.g. yeast,
Penicillium)

No they correct the same way..and you know what? cambridge is fair to everyone, they are never strict in correcting papers!

they never give Pancreas and kidney, spinal cord, ovary and testis for Paper 3 because these are found in A2 syllabuys! am i wrong? and yep, they may also ask to compare between monocot and dicot roots/stems!
