Electrophoresis: make sure to include a buffer soluation in your agarose gel plate and that the samples are near the cathode. The sequence of fragments from the ANODE to cathode is shortest to longest. Standardise the pH of the buffer, the voltage applied and the time.
Chromatography: Include that you would cover the apparatus to prevent the evaporation of solvent. Standardise the solvent used, the time and the mass of whatever you are analysing. Remember that two-way chromatography is used if there are solutes with similar Rf values.
