Assalamoalaikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuh..
Hope everyone did well!!Seems that everybody is in the holiday mood and isn't willing to discuss the exam! :p .Yesterday there was a server problem and so i couldnt access this website.Today when I vvisited here I was surprised that Exam Discussion is not yet started  :) .
Anyway I would say that the exam was Alhumdulilah easy compared to previous years because we had around 12 repeated questions and abt. 5-6 questions were similar to those in the previous papers!!so it was really worth doing pastpapers!!I finished it in only 20 min and revised so many times!!

ok the answers I can remember I wrote(2nd variant),
First let me give the answers for ques. from pastpapers,(mark scheme ans.)

1st was respiration

Simple key was A

Eye question-looking at close object was A

No. of chloroplasts-B

population in 20 years time- D

when emp. reaches above normal-D

arrow in the section of leaf reapresents-D(water cycle only)

phloem removed what happens- A (amino acids and sucrose cannot..)

which represent 1 organ only-C(leaf)

site of production of urea- liver

arm question-D straightens and relaxes
-----------
now my answes

red blood cells-B (the two on the right side)

where osmosis occurs -the arrow from soil to plant

No. of cell walls seen=0

Producer is organism C

the osmosis question-water and potato one was C

Taster/non taster - i think it was 1 in 1, not sure abt this one!ratio was 1:1 but i dont no 1f 1 in 2 matches this ratio or 1 in 1

Nuclear Fall out - DNA damages --i am not sure

anaerobic respiration B

sewage wrote D - not sure- but reason for this is fish dies so more bacteria which uses up more oxygen!!

where growth occurs- C -not sure- but it is either C or D!

why the mass increases-A-absorption of water

energy lost among tophic levels-B - biggest arrow first then small....and it keeps getting small so it is in order of amt. of energy decreasing!
---------
Add more u can remember and do tell if u doubt anything. The questions which I am not sure I have written, others I am confident but still possible that they are wrong but less chance!

Varient paper 1

Taster/non taster, I think the answer is 1 in 2 (50%)

Nucleat fallout - I wrote damages DNA

Anaerobic respiration - B (high energy in products, low energy released, CO2 sometimes produced)

Last question - Sewage dumped, lowest amount of oxygen was at B.

That's all I can remember for now, as well as what was said above

i think the growth is D cuz it is when the photosynthesis occurs
and doubt wat the answer of the ' y the seed gained the total mass .... cuz .... i made it absorption of wat - A ) ;) cuz he said total mass not dry mass .....

yes u r right it is absorption of water and as far as for growth i think it is C as plant will grow at the stage to form leaves!I too had a doubt between C and D but cuz of the above mentioned reason i marked C

I wanna make sure of : 1. genetics ( 1 in 1 or 1in 2 ) btw. was th answer said : 1:1 or 1 in 1 ???
2. growth graph of the plant .. ( C or D )
3. LAST QUEST.
these are all my DOUBTS ABOUT THIS EXAM ........

My thoughts for the exam:

Question about which stage was growth. I put D, as at this point, the dry mass was higher than the start (A), and so in IGCSE growth can be defined as an increase in dry mass.

Question afterwards about why increase in mass, I said absorption of water, as it didn't say DRY mass, so wet mass is included.

Question about 'taster's, I put 1 in 2. BTW 1 in 2 means 50%, and 1 in 1 means 100%. So what did you guys put?

Question about sewage, was B, where it was closest to the sewage, as here most numbers of bacteria, respire aerobically, use up the oxygen.

Question about deforestation: what was the answer to that? Options I think were: A) Decreased O2 levels, B) Decreased rainfall, C) Increased CO2 levels, and D) Increased soil erosion.

Question about energy levels: did it ask for energy flow or energy loss?

That's all I've got now.

well for the Question about energy levels it asked about energy loss but take in mind that the arrowsshow the amount of energy carried :)
