in 2012 nov gt it says 156 (i think) for the combination 11,31, 61 for an A*
Does that mean that 156/160 is required ? or 156/200? Is the upper GT on the page is taken into consderation in this or its a different calaculation

Can anyone please clear it for me?! With also reference to as how much minimum marks/% can be lost in each paper for an A* and A (as the trend of past years shows)

Best wishes :)

First, the papers add up to 160. While, they are marking your grades they convert it to 200 as you can notice that it is mentioned in the threshold (gt) that 200 is the maximum mark (the maximum total mark for this syllabus is 200 for Extended options and 160 for the Core options. I'm not sure though, but I assume that they simply multiply 160 X 1.25 to convert 160 to 200. I assume to find your mark you must do the same, by multiplying your mark by 1.25. So, in the threshold it is 156/200 not 160.

what about each paper , for example paper 3 weighting is 50%, so its calculated as such : 70/80*50= 44% and paper 1, 6 and add their %s . or they just calculate total and marks and convert it to 200 like you said? but yea as you suggested i think its quite doubtful thats its 156/160.
