those things are from notes made by a teacher..

for the ecology part the things in the notes r not very different from the book we have except for one thing:
Possible evaluation issues:
1) constant changing of abiotic conditions
2) movement of organisms
3) sampling taken within limited time
4) limitations of only 1 study
5) consideratiom for safety of organisms
6) disruption to normal habitat

the same applies for the brine shrimps experiment:
Possible evaluation issues:
1) ethics of hatching shrimps under unnatural conditions
2) effect of light intensity may be different for each sample
3) fluctuating temperatures
4) not accurate salt measuremnets
5) may not have counted exactly 40 eggs
6) may miss seeing some of baby shrimp
7) some eggs may not be viable anymore and wont hatch

as for the antibiotics one:
Possible evaluation issues:
1) ensuring that the discs r placed evenly on the petridish
2) having good aseptic techniques to prevent plate contamination
3) age of antibiotic - if the antibiotic has expired it is likely to be less effective
4) repeats
5) accuracy of incubation temperature and time

nothing else is different

Why is the quadrat divided into smaller squares? is it for accuracy or presicion.........or both?

i found this on a website:

Grid quadrats are also 2-dimensional quadrats, this time divided into a known number of small squares (often 100). By doing this it is possible to generate percentage frequency data (how many times a species occurs; present in 1 square = 1% frequent), as well as direct counts and more accurate percentage cover data (if a species fills 4 squares the coverage is therefore 4% - there is less estimation involved).
