Euro, I always tend to do a stupid mistake in exams...this time I multiplyed 1 by 1 and somehow got the answer 2!!!!!!!!!!!!(X+1)(X+1)=X2+2X+2!!!!!!!!!!!!! :fool:

brunei dollars ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,with new ex rate 6e will cost 11.4 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and price in euro didnt changed reamains as 6e,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so a meal costing 6e will cost 11.4 instead of 11.5........................what about the questing about time second part what is the new closing time

I also chose Brunei dollars but I'm not sure.

When I changed 6e according to the exchange rate, I got $11.4
When I changed dollars into the exchange rate, I got 6.04e.

So, I thought dollars was cheaper then, than the original price.

As for the closing time, I think it was 17 00.

im not sure about the answer but this is my theories:
i choose Euro because:
the question is he pay 6 euro or 11.5 dollar, which one does he pay less.
the exchange rate is 1 euro = 1.9.... dollar
so I choose to convert euro to dollar
6 * 1.9 =11.4 so 11.4 < 11.5 so 6 euro is lower !!!

and

about the closing time:
they said it will close 4% later than the total time so
the total time is 100 so 4% of 100 is 4.
add the closing time of Sunday (which is 13 00) with 4
u will get 17 00.

about the irrational:
they said to write 2 ???
i wrote "pie" only

agree with you on closing time, but the brunie dollars thing, dont remeber what i did, yet i choose brunie dollars because it was coming 11.4 sollars which is less than 11.5 dollars

first while solving paper i too wrote only pie, then while checking i saw which of the following numbers are irrational.
number are hmmmm, then i thought sqare root of 3 +sqare root of6 looks like irrational too, so i wrote it.

About the money thing, what I thought was...

The meal costs 6 euros and $11.5 (they should be linked through an exchange rate, too, I think, as far as my logic is concerned ...)
When you apply the exchange rate...
Changing 6e to $ you get 11.4
Changing $11.5 to e you get 6.04

So, 6.04 euros and $11.4

I thought it was $'s then, that was less in this exchange rate...?

they ask u if he pay with the money 6 euro or with the money $11.5 ,
which is less??(only these two not 11.4)
11.4 is the $ u convert 6 euro to so $11.4=6 euro
so 11.4 < 11.5
so 6 is less than $11.5 (only concern about these two value not the converted ones)

I got that too, but I thought it should be 4^2x+2 ... And last moment thinking, I crossed it out, so I don't know what they'll understand.

Working out will at least give some marks *shrugs*

I understand your logic on the money one, it was kind of tricky, after the exam, 2 of us were saying dollars, the other two were saying euros

It never said to write 2, that was the problem, but it was two marks. The answer space seemed to indicate one answer only.. Another confusion :s
