Aoa. I am thinking to take business studies as an extra subject in O'levels and i will appear for my cie exams in 2012 along with 7 more subjects including economics. I want to know that is it a right choice,i mean is it easy or hard?Though in future i'm not going to the business side. Will this subject give me credit ?

W.S! It is not your field, thus totally useless for consideration by universities. It is an extra 'A/A*' if you study it.

I don't have any personal experience with Computer Studies but I think any O'level subject can be covered in that much time (I've heard it's easy, too). Lets wait for others' replies. :)

i think for computer is okay for u but its really time consuming as u have to make a project and if u dont make u have to get it from some maker that costs a lot sometimes but it helps as it opens ur fields further !
with computer u can go into our INTERmediates ! and again it can offer an A* .

Most of the topics in Computer Studies are very easy and just need a little bit of common sense and personal experience while using computer, yet the Algorithims, Trace tables and peusodcodes are hard and they come in the paper every year, U can easily cover ur theory in less than 3 months but the real problem is the project. U have to design a software for any organization and it should be about 600 papes or more, if u ain't opting for project then u have to give ATP but again Feasibility Study and other project related topics come in this paper and u have to write all the design sequence etc. so i say leave computer studies !!

I'll advice you to go for the IGCSE subject of ICT instead of doing O'levels Computer Studies. ICT is more fun and interesting, since it has practical components and you enjoy doing them unlike the project of computer studies. Btw, I think you should go for business studies if you have Economics. You may consider keeping Commerce, too.

I will suggest you to go for business studies but let me tell you one thing. You need to learn some things but your concepts about business should be cleared and around 5-6 months full time concentration will give you this. If you are note familiar with business then i would suggest you to go for private tuition and completely understand each and every word of business. If you have your concepts clear then you could easily get an B without learning anything but if you learn definitions and advantages and disadvantages of some topics then surely you can get an A/A*.

That depends on your preference according to your thinking cuz you know what you can do the best and easily score an A

Obviously, you can appear for both IGCSE and O'levels in the same session. I did the same as I told you, i.e. appeared for ICT along with my O'levels. But there is one problem you get the ICT grade on a separate certificate. Though, statement of result is the same.
