Calling all A/A* holders of sociology(2251) for help(plz)!!!

AOA, i have recently opted for sociology and had to start from scratch plz plz plz guide me,

1.From ken brown's (4th edition) book i will prepare four topics and do past paper.s
2.But else than that what should i do.....no tips, no patterns and no glossary of key words in questions(someone told me the key words of questions such as 'Assess' are same as paper 2 of Pak.
Studies...geography... and i should use the glossary at the end of syllabus of geography)
3. I even don't know which topics to choose; interest is something else but in which ones can i gain maximum marks.
4.People say to rote learn, rote learn but what should i learn by heart for every chapter?
Actually i wont have any pattern to move with and i want to once know the best method and then follow it precisely.
PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE REALLY LESS TIME AS WELL AS, TOO DAMN CONFUSED.

For sociology i would recommend you to read all the topics thoroughly to get a clear idea in your mind about all the topics. No need to choose few topics (i know there is a choice) but try doing all of them since you are still having three months but before exam revise the ones you are best at and attempt those. People often say about rote learning but i personally don't recommend that, read the topic clearly and sketch the whole picture of what you read in your mind and in this way you would be able to remember all the points whereas there are chances to forget or miss any point during rote learning. And glossary words are given in the syllabus at the end of each topic, once you would be done with a specific topic you would be knowing them, write their descriptions separately and learn them and revise them before exam.

That's what is different many people told me.What grade did u get by following this method?Because i have been told to do only the required topics down to deepest details and every inch of it.In this way i will master the 5 choosen topics and attempt any question given by the examiner.Thank you very much for your reply i have been asking for that since days and is really confused.Actually during these 3 months i have to deal with 5 more subjects!Plz guide me.The most important part of confusion is the pattern to solve the questions(2 4 6 and 8 marks).well for glossary i selected rote learning.Once agian thanks and plz do reply regularly.

Well i am appearing for this subject in the upcoming june session like you and i followed the same method for studying in my previous subjects and aced them with good grades. I believe its a good way to learn so i recommended you as well. You are moving fine with your preparation because mastering the selected topics is good and learning glossary is also a good idea. As far as the pattern to solve the questions is concerned so that is guided in the marking schemes. Answer should always be given according to the demand of the question. I would recommend to leave the pattern of solving question for the time being and to concentrate more on doing the topics to clear your concepts because once you would be done with the whole syllabus you would definitely understand the patterns yourself while solving past papers.
