It is given that f(x) = 2x2 – 12x + 10.
(i) Find the value of a, of b and of c for which f(x) = a(x + b)2 + c.

Find the set of values of k for which the equation |f(x)| = k has 4 distinct roots.

FOR Q 1
STEP 1...........x(2x + 12) -10
STEP 2...........x(x+6)2-10
STEP 3...........Equation shows f(x)=a(x+b)2+c
as f(x) = f(x) compare both equations so you have
ANS : a=x b=6 c = -10

Dude distinct roots and modulus are in add maths not maths .. lol
