Checking Exam Papers!

I am quite confused about the way the examiners check.
Would they give you marks if you convey the concept but write poor english(but also use correct terminology)
Or would they check on both criteria's?

Check both..but little mistakes dont matter in the sciences..of course if there's a lot of mistakes..it counts..but in other subjects..esp english..spelling n grammar does count..
