it was a methyl Keytone so it formed tri-iodoMethane (CHI3) and the gas produces was CO2 as it was H2C=R it cleaves the double bond (=) and oxidises to CO2Question 4's few last questions which were something like identify the yellow ppt formed and the one which was to identify the gas formed because of hot acidified KMNO4. They were for just a mark each.
