Hey Priya

OK concerning your concern with rates of reaction , this is what i can tell you.

The following factors increase the speed/rate of a reaction:
-More finely divided substance(larger surface area) - Concerns solids
- A higher concentration - refers to solutions
- Increase the volume - for liquids and gases
- A higher temperature
- A higher light intensity
- Use of a catalyst , such as an enzyme or a metal such at platinum , catalyst speeds up the rate of a reaction without undergoing any physical change

Hope this helps , if you need more help , feel free to ask :D
