Ok .. let's make this simple..
Covalent bond.. when two atoms share electrons..
A covalent compound .. for example H2 it has 2 Hydrogen atoms which share electrons to make this molecule..

Then there are three types of covalent bonds
1) Single : when the atoms share one pair of electrons
2)Double : when the atoms share two pairs of electrons
3) Triple : when the atoms share three pairs of electrons
