like i said to control the starting of the reaction.
)u dont want it to start when u are preparing but u can let loose later when u r ready)
in the m.s. it is written to not let Mg contact with the acid
it is also correct

Potassium Mnganate/ Ditchromate i think but i havent started studying yet

when Potassium manganate is oxidised it turns from Purple to colourless if im not mistaken and thats how i would test for an oxidising/reducing agent but honestly im not sure.
