I don't get it how to obtain 3 different alkenes by the dehydration of an alcohol, i always get only 2 alkenes.
This question has appeared several times..
Help me plz: N05 P1 24

u r in the right track,
one of the alkenes formed shows cis-trans isomerism,
if u examine the alkenes formed after dehydration, u will notice that butan-2-ol is the correct ans.

look the size of halogen increases so does the bond length of the R --- X in B and C. increase in bond length means a decrease in bond energy. in a given time, no of moles of NaX formed wuld be increased
