The answer for the maxi reading on it would be 100 *C because the thermometer highest mark is 100 and u dnt have to consider 110 because that is if we count -10 which we were not suppose to.

Now if you would look at a standard laboratory thermometer, the maximum reading is 110 Degrees Celsius. This is because these thermometers are quite often used to measure boiling points of water. You can inspect any past paper questions, you will see thermometers with 110 degrees celsius as the maximum reading.

Or just inspect a thermometer in your school lab

Though 100 may also be accepted, I'm not sure.

well.....100 and 110 both should b correct they both r found in a standard lab thermometer

about the tick boxes...pouring the oil quickly is correct...as 4 the use of a wider range of readings is incorrect...

a wider range doesnt make the graph more accurate...graphs r made accurate by shortening the intervals btw each reading.....the second option was by using a more sensitive thermometer as it will give us a more accurate measurement of temp.

the Question u r talking about showes a cooling curve between the temp. 90C - 20C....the marking scheme states a large number of readings to b taken....as there is a fixed rangs given so a large number of readings means decreasing the intervals btw each reading.......this was not the case with the recent qs....the ans option, a LARGER RANGE in the recent qs is wrong as it doesnt decrease the number of intervals btw each reading....

and sensitivity has got nthng to do with accuracy if there is a temperature with range 120 degrees and sensitivity is increased do u think it will be of the same size as an ordinary laboratory thermometer
