Easy Math question need help

How would you differentiate 2y=3x^2+5. I know the general idea but y has a coefficient. So would i
just differentiate it as it is or do i have to divide the whole equation by 2 to differentiate?
Dividing by 2 seems correct to get value in y= but i just want to make sure...
Please reply quick got exam tumorrow

Does anyone know a simple method to figure out graph transformations. Again i know the general rule but it is quite easy to get lost in those so does anyone know how to figure out if i am on the right track while im doing those and also
Equation of circle is 1) (x-a)^2+ (y-b)^2=r^2 where a,b are the centre coordinates and also we have 2) x^2+y^2+2gx+2fy+c=0 where g=-a f=-b and c=a^2+b^2-r^2. I get confused on the second equation. Cuz when u got centre coordinates and the radius it is wise to use the first so i wanna know why there is 2nd equation for it and in what circumstances we use it. Please answer if you can sorry if its too long to read:((
