Just an advise: try not to read new notes at this time, they'll confuse you. Go for ones you already have (if any) and read the Bamford's book. This book has all the sufficient material a candidate requires to answer the questions in the exams.

firstly there are many CIE endorsed books. so you need to check the, probably, last pages of the syllabus.

Secondly, compulsory questions cannot be said. But the format is basic.
In paper 32; mostly all the topics are covered. There are calculations, theoretical and conceptual questions. You need to cover each and every bit of the syllabus to be fully prepared for this paper.

For paper 42: question no.1 is compulsory question. You cannot omit or leave this. This is mostly either about economic development and growth or international trade. One can EXPECT macro economics related questions here.
In section B of this paper; examiner gives 6 questions and a candidate has to do only 2 out of these 6. These questions are 25 marks each ( 12,13 or 15,10 or 25) It is recommended that a candidate should not attempt 25 marks question as one tends to make more mistakes in these. The questions vary from macro to micro. All questions are diversified and from within the syllabus. You need to study and UNDERSTAND the course fully to answer these questions effectively.
However, if you are smart enough than skim through the previous papers and look what can and what cannot come. And prepare yourself for the most EXPECTED question. If it comes you are lucky and can score well.

All the Best!
