How can we know whether the best fit line is a curve or a straight line. I always get it wrong. Please need help reply as soon as you can!

how to revise for this unit?? i have no idea wat experiments to study and other material''!! m a private student so PLEASEEE HELPPP MEEE!!!!!

Just read it carefully if it says "best fit line" and your points seem to plot a curved line then it is a best fit line for a curved line. If it says draw a "best fit straight line" then you know it has to be a straight line. Another thing that can help you is the type of question, if for example the experiment deals with capacitors then you should know most graphs in that topic are exponential graphs and if it is a question on hubble's constant then you should know it's a straight line. Looking at the equstion can help you a lot and remember to read carefully if they say best fit line or best fit straight line.
