Hello, I am really confused about what to do I want to apply for electrical engineering preferably in Canada the subjects I am writing in may/June this year are:
Maths A level
physics A level
Biology A level
Business studies AS level
English AS level

But I have never done chemistry only at a grade 12(matric) level, pls guide me on whether I will be able to get admission on only my A level results or not? And if not will i be able to write O or AS level chemistry in may/June this year and get a decent grade?

I am reallyyyy confused and stressed because Im an idiot and didn't take chemistry before :(

thank you

Well since no one has offered a comment I will give you what I know.

I have known students to enter Canadian universities with A levels. However you should have long ago checked the entrance requirements for the universities to which you wish to apply to make sure that you have met them.

If you want to do EE why on earth are you doing an A level in Biology? The EE schools won´t give you two hoots and a handshake for A level Biology. They mostly care about your scores in Math and Physics. They probably care about your English a little because they feel that engineers need to occasionally communicate with the outside world.

It may be possible that you need chemistry for EE. If they will take an AS level you might still be able to do the course in time for the May-June exams. If that is the case then I would recommend dropping the Biology or at least falling back to just the AS level. You might feel that you don´t want to have wasted your time with the Biology so you would like to do the exams and get the A-level credit but frankly you are wasting your time with Biology if EE is really what you want to do.

It simply is not feasible to do a full A-level in Chemistry in the time remaining. If that is what you need then you will have to do it next year and delay your application until then. If that turns out to be the case then I would also recommend that you do Further Math as well. You need lots of math for EE and the more you have when you apply the better they will like your application.

I'm applying to university of waterloo Canada and all I have is A Level Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Why are you taking English, Business Studies and Biology? Its just a waste of money, time and you might even end up getting a B or something in all the subjects because you're giving so many of them together. They don't even need you to study English, AS Level English is not for everyday use, its for English literature and that's no way near the Electrical Engineering field. Even if you give English AS, they universities won't accept it as a language proof. You will need to give TOFEL or IELTS or something similar so why are you taking it?

If you want a sincere opinion then drop biology, business studies and English and put you full effort on chemistry, maths and physics; get AAA or A*s and any university will accept you.

I'll speak to the principle and see if she can deregister me even if there's a late penalty... My college doesn't offer further maths :( so i can't do that
I also took those subjects because it says on the university site that I should have subjects in 5 areas, do you think I should still deregister?
and could someone also pls tell me what is the lowest symbols that someone had that got accepted at a good university in Canada? like waterloo or university of Toronto
