Hi all!
I've got my First Language paper 3 examination on Friday and I'm not sure how to prepare. How do I prepare myself for any titles they may give me to write about? Can you give me some advice? Thanks.

Preparation for English is something which really has been occurring throughout the two year span of the course. The preparation all depends what type of writer you are. In English, I tend to stick to descriptives so I find the best help is to just read, and think about how you can make something boring, seen vibrant and exciting through the use of vocabulary. You can't really guess which titles they will give you. My advice would be to simply do as many past papers as possible, so you are as prepared as you can be. I hope I somewhat helped.

Best of luck on Friday! :D

Yeah you kind of did but I still have more questions, and sorry for my boring topic. What type of things do they ask you to write about. More specifically, what kind of writing do they ask of you. For argumentative, they can ask any random things but for descriptive, what kind of descriptives do they ask of you?
How about for narratives? They sometimes ask for suspense, sometimes for a time in your life. What others?
Thanks.

They usually give topics which people are easily able to describe readily. Possibly parties, streets, special ocassions, sad ocassions. Narratives usually include one type which asks you to begin in a certain way, and another which asks you to make a certain subject central to your story. The best advice is to be specific about what they ask you.
