English IGCSE 1st Lang. Mark confusion

Hey guys I don't understand what the mark scheme is for english first language. It says 35/50 in one paper is an A but for for an overall A mark you need atleast 80%. Both paper 2 and paper 3 count 50% so is it 40/50 for an A in a paper or is it 70% overall for an A? Thanks

Every year the marks for 80% changes depending on the marks for every student. But in the case above 35/50 represents 80% for that year this grade thershold was published for.
