How hard is it to get an A* for english language? Does anyone know?

it is pretty hard....although 20 percent people in june 2010 got it

English as a first language. I got an A* on English as a Second Language already.

It is way difficult to get an A* in First Language than in Second language.
Second Language is just a piece of cake
BTW best of Luck... only a bit effort is required.

Yeah, second language is really easy.
I read and write a lot, so I think I did well for the description question in first language.
Hopefully the examiners will enjoy it as much as I did.

I chose option 3a or something like that... The first descriptive one. With the shop.

the descriptive part is very competitive though..
U shud have chosen the Argumentative/Discursive or the Narrative part..

I find argumentative extremely boring and I didn't like the narration suggestions.
And by competitive, do you mean there are many good submissions? I used a wide range of vocab and figurative language, especially similes and metaphors, so it came out pretty good.

By competitive I meant to say that it's harder to get good marks in this kinda writing.
Argumentative is the BEST and Easiest.

Well, I took the risk.
I noticed most people do prefer argumentative, but to me it's just boring, and it doesn't give me the opportunity to show off my writing skills.
But thank you for the luck, apparently I'll be needing it!

But that is no big deal..
Descriptive Writing is there- in the paper- for some reason, so u cannot say that one must not do it.
You found that topic interesting and knew that u could do well in that ,,,then what's the issue. I mean this is awesome.
But to me,, descriptive is a bit ( you know) . . . . .

By the way,, how was rest of the paper??

Hahaha, of course...
I think I did okay.
The first part was extremely boring, but oh well... Writing a letter to the headmaster.
Paper 2 was boring, too.
