Most of you should be doing the oral exams for sure! ?
So here lies my best tips to excel in it!
I know, am not a native English speaker but i can fight to be the best.
Section A:
You need to focus on:
-PRONUNCIATION and VERY CLEAR ARTICULATION
-FLUENCY and PACING
-PITCH and TONE
-MOOD (ideas and feelings in a passage)
To help you with this section, you need to work on:
-Tongue Twisters
-Drama (like Death of a Salesman or Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?)
Just try it with you friends. It is very amusing and you will like it!!
And when you finish with that, just to a paper reading.
Section B:
Just as above you should focus on...
But here they will check your:
-IDEAS
-Ability to Speak
-Creating and developing a web (where you mix up the examiner so, that what ever will be the question you will have and answer)
-Fast response
Advice:
-Spend 2 min on Section A and 3 min on Section B (in preparation time)
-SIT STRAIGHT
-Look in the eyes of the examiners
-Pronounce well
-Elaborate more and more (NEVER EVER ANSWER ONLY BY "YES" OR "NO" or you will be severely penalised)
-Vocabulary working
-Add arguments (Try to question the examiners)
-Add the Examiners in your talk
-Don't stumble or hesitate
NEVER SHOW THAT YOU ARE VULNERABLE.
YOU SHOULD HAVE THE UPPER HAND ON THE EXAMINERS.
Personally with all these you should be the hit of the exams!
And guys, if you are having two women as examiners just boost their ego like:
-"You look great Miss or Mam? You are married? Ohhh.. You look so young!
>Be careful with these, you should be a great speaker or just leave it!
I can't teach you, i can only make you think!
