So here's another question for those that have gotten an A* in any subject...what were your component grades?

Is it possible. How likely it is depends on how sound your preparation is and how well you form in the A2 components.

Will make this quite simple to follow. I'm not sure whats the maximum marks for chemisty including all papers. Lets for example assume Max marks are 260. This is with paper 1 =40 marks, paper 2 = 60 marks etc etc.

A* = 197/260 ( minimum grade )

You just need a total value of marks including all your papers to reach a point. That being said quite possible to get A* if your a level papers are very good.

But this was what you said the last time.

Right, thats only when max marks listed are accurate. Economics max marks are 170 yet the GT lists it as 200 to apply weightage and stuff. Would be better if you specify the subject to be sure. Business for example lists max marks as 200 which is right as all the papers combined give 200. In that case it would be safe to assume what I said in my first post was correct. Hope you get my point.

What about Chemistry...the total marks add up to 270, but in the GT they say its 260.Same goes for Physics and Biology.
