What are value-added products?

Value-added products are the modified or enhanced products which are obtained from raw materials through industrial processes. They have higher market value as compared to raw materials. Examples of value-added products derived from fruits or vegetables include jams, jellies, pickles, spreads, sauces and preserved vegetables. Similarly, garments, fabrics, hosiery and knitwear are examples of value-added products obtained from cotton.
