Giving O levels senior 3 privately

AOA, I'm considering leaving my school and giving o lvls senior 3 papers on my own i.e privately.Um... I wanted to ask if there was any disadvantage in doing so and is there any major difference in giving papers privately or through an institution.....most of my friends are advising against it.....some are saying that the marking criteria is a lot more strict for a student appearing privately and others are saying that it is much more difficult for private students to get admission in schools for A levels.
I would be truly grateful if anyone would guide me in the right direction.


P.S: I have a really good reason to leave my school

I would say you shouldnt, you only study half a year in class 11, so bear it through!! I also have always heard how examiners check strictly for private candidates, but it may be true, not confirm tho!!! But i can surely say that some institutes dont prefer private candidates, as it gives some of an impression that you were bad and thus had to give privately!!! Well By School Registration is Hassle Free.It's like the School does all your Work I.e Registration ,Getting entry Of statement and Result's. You Give ur exam in ur own School so you feel Comfortable and dont feel like a stranger.If u find any error in ur documents or difficulty school people helps u out and lastly Our school didnot verify at the port of entry that it was the real Person while private people had to stay in long que's to get verified.Well if you do it privately then you won't get any transcript which is necessary for most university admission.

But all in all, it more importantly depends on your grades, no matter how you score them, you shoudl have good grades, which will make your name!!!

sorry i would nt agree with you ppl . Marking are same for private and school candidates moreover only grades matter (true zuhsid ) Good grades = good school and confirm admission . They would not ask about your past that why you left , why did you chose this .

Haseeb96, YOU FEEL LIKE A REPEAT OF MY OWN STORY. I will introduce myself. I am fifteen years old and had been a student of a matric school till two years back when i thought about doing o levels. My family could not afford the fees and so i decided to do it privately. I was thirteen then. Menglish was poor and i was used to of memorization, some how i gave the first three papers and result was A in urdu, B in Pak studies C in Islamiat, ( mind i took no tutions, pure on my own grades)
Next year i had better english, some basic system info and i got A* in Economics, A* in commerce and A in business, it was a blast for me,
Now i am going to give last english and math next month, it was a fine journey and i am going to give A level in same way...
Some pros. -you got to learn extremely lot, Teachers just cut the thing short.
- No hardship of school, no time of travel, no tension.
- You got the base to study on your own and it adds to personality's strength and confidence /
- You can study on your pace, longer of faster.
- Much cheaper and easy registration
- There is a contrast in opinions about admission but i do not think it will occur in your case.
Some cons. -You do not get guidance and can lose marks, if you don't get the right notes.

P.s i had a really really really good reason for leaving school too, and today it feels good that i took the decision.

Wow!!...that's really impressive .U r just 15 yrs old and through with O levels and not just through but with considerably good grades...well...kudos to u maam .So apart from guidance....there's no real set back in giving papers privately???
My school just sucks at studies.....no qualified teachers...some aren't even aware of the paper patterns.And not just that, the school timings are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm!!!Last year I studied at home by myself(no tuitions) and my attendance at school was around 30%....alhamdulillah I got 2A*s and an A(urdu).So, this is why I'm thinking of giving papers privately this year.
Thank u so much for helping me out...now I'm sure I can survive this year without my(so called) school

I'm 16 and got done with my O levels when I was 15, I did all of my subjects privately and it wasn't bad at all! I got an A* in bio, A in math and chem and B in Isl and Eng. I didn't even bother with many tuitions. They won't mark you any differently, I find self studying better than school. And believe me you'll get an admission in A levels for sure, schools care bout the money LOL

Thanks a lot... I n Pakistan you are OBVIOUSLY not going to face any problem. It is all about the money. But for abroad there are teachers references needed,I am sure you can provide them from the earlier grades. and they are a little bit doubtful about the reason you did not studies as normal students, (which in at least my case was purely financial as well as wishing to be ahead of other students as in your case. ( i wanted to skip class 8 but my principal wouldn't let me even though i was literally topper. so i left matric system.)). So.... a good reason accompanied with good grades is likely to keep the hardships away..

I've seen my sister suffer through matric system :/, the results purely depend on luck......and money ^_^.Well, bribing the examiners isn't really our thing, so she Failed to get admission in a govt. Medical university(private universities were too expensive for us).....because of this set back, she had to switch from medical to commerce....to cut things short, years of hard work went to waste just because of the unfair marking system.She's currently in IBA(some sort of commerce university in karachi) and regrets studying through matric schooling system.
Pretty boring, huh :-\ but to sum it up....leaving matric system will most probably be the best decision of your life thumbs up!!!!
