So Now I really don't understand the Grade Thresholds, In biology the total mark is out of 160, but in the grade thresholds, it's out of 200, so Do I add the marks for papers 1,3,6 and change it to get it as a mark out of 200? Or Does it work in another way?

1 more question, it says A reduction may be made at higher grades, does this mean I'm gonna lose marks for nothing?

actually thats not the case only with bio but many other subjects like esl. But i don't think we should be concerned about that cuzi the marks required to get the grades are stilll according to the original total. like for bio u will be getting an A at about 140 in many papers wheres i think. But still if u find any info about it let me know ;) what i think is that they workout our percentages i guess or smthing like that
for the reduction, i never heard that. ask an experienced teacher or u may directly email cambridge. they will reply sometime hopefully.

It's really confusing me, I know many members on here KNOW the answer, but just won't write.

They Only reply to what benefits them as it seems...

well after alot of thinking this is the conclusion i have come to
total marks are 200 for bio
Paper 1 weightage is 30% so that means 60 marks out of 200 so they will convert the marks u get out of 40 to out of 60
same with Paper 6 weightage is 20% so that means 40 marks out of 200 so the will take the marks u get out of 40
for paper 3 weightage is 50& that is 100 out of 200 so they will convert the marks u get out of 80 to out of 100
people tend to do really well in paper 1 and paper 6 but when it comes it to paper 3 in all phy bio and chem they struggle as it is the extended paper hence the A* boundary being low and not all people get it as paper 3 matters the most (50% of all the marks)

well this is the conclusion i have come to :p

in paper 1 ( multiply your marks with 1.5)
in paper 3 ( multiply your marks with 1.25 )
for paper 6 , leave it the same.
And then count all of them, this will be your score out of 200

um well the way i do it ( i do not know if its correct) is:
ex for bio
i get 35/40 so u do (35/40*0.3)
and in p3 ex 72 then u do (72/80*0.5)
and in p6 ex 30 u do( 30/40*0.2)
then add all the decimals together so itll be
(0.2625+0.45+0.15)then multiply by 200 so ur final mark will be 172.5
I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAY IS CORRECT OR WRONG
