I heard from a reliable source that Cambridge will now be using a '7-mark slab' for all paper one's in O-level, as far as I know.
So basically, It would be like, if you have 73/80 marks in the Mathematics Paper 1, it will be considered as 80/80, i.e 100%.
Similarly, if you have about 65/80 marks, it will be considered as 72/80. However, if you have a grade lower than 'C' then it will be a negative marking slab.
So basically say you have about 49/80 marks in the paper, it will be considered as 42 or 43, whatever.
And this rule will be applied to all Paper One's.
Paper 2 on the other hand is the identifier which will distinguish between distinctions/percentages etc.
I don't know what this system is called really, and I am aware of the fact very few have probably heard about this. I'm not sure myself though..
What do you think :S?
