Guys, can anyone tell me yhat what does continous prose mean and how to write in a 14 mark answer as required by the CIE?

Continuous prose basically means your answer should be paragraphed, in proper sentences waghera. No bullet points etc.

And to answer a 14 mark question in history, this is the format

Okay so if they ask you: Was the weak line of succession the main cause for the decline of the Mughal Empire (14)

Now in this answer, you need to explain the weak line of succession aswell as two-three other factors for MAXIMUM marks.

So it would go like this

Reason 1 (Explain weak line of succession)
Develop a link: " The weak line of succession was one of the reasons why the Mughal Empire declined"

Reason 2 (Explain another reason; administration problems)
Develop a link: "Thus, these administrative problems were anothe reason for the decline of the Mughal Empire"

Reason 3 (Explain another reason; military costs)
Develop a link: "Thus, the rising military costs, and declining military expertise were also a major reason for the decline of the Mughal Empire"

(MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL IN 14 MARKS QUESTIONS) Add a judgement to which reason YOU believe was the major cause for the decline of the Mughal Empire.
Remember to include the judgement. It carries 1 mark alone.
