i am from sri lanka and i am currently doing my A levels(CIE) in private taking maths(pure and mechanics) , economics and Camputing and i have completed my O levels in the commerce stream, wish I did science because I love physics a lot.
I left school before my O levels and couldn't join one since than as I am sufffering from a financial problem. I am now very interested in mechanical engineering but my O levels limit me to a certain extent and btw I am doing physics for A levels (Edexcel because it involves no practical exam). I can very well cope up with the syllabus as i have a passion for physics and it looks easy because im doing mechanics in A level maths. So i just wanted to know whether entering a universtiy for engineering without O level physics is going to be difficult?? not having O level physics is a disadvantage?
Am i going in the right path? two different exam boards.. is that gonna be a problem? im confused!
Sorry for the length... can anybody please help me ! I'm desperate for an answer thanks :)

Different universities require different high school grades, but I think that most are only focused on you're final year or two (i.e. A-Levels/IB). If you manage to achieve an excellent grade in A-Level physics (which insha allah you will due to it being your passion), then I don't think you need to worry about your O-Level grades. A-Levels are more significant and more difficult so if you ace those then it'll show the university(ies) your aptitude for Physics and which will influence them to waive your lack of O-Level physics knowledge/qualification. Regarding the exam board difference, it doesn't matter at all as they're equal qualifications (i.e. they're both A-Levels) so they're of a set standard anyway. Hope that helped :) feel free to ask any more questions ;)
