Take Farkhanda Noor's book, highlight the main points and make your own notes ( in points form).
Basically, these topics involve rote-learning; things are better 'rote-learnt' when written in one's own handwriting.

david r thomas book will help u as well. its concise and to the point as well. i don't believe entirely in rot learning in islamiyat. if u read the events with interest then it becomes easier to remember and you can write in ur own words.
