Assalamoalaikum!!
Just want to ask a small thing!
it says in the syllabus derive, from the equations of motion, the formula Kinetic energy=1/2 mv^2

so which equations are we supposed to use...
s = (u+v)/2 x t & F = ma where a = (v - u) / t

OR

v^2 = u^2 + 2as & F = ma where a = (v - u) / t

I actually just want to confirm whether we can go fir it either way?! :unknown:

Jazak Allah Khair! :)

Go for the 'OR' one. Though I am sure, you can go for any of these.

Sorry W.S!
Yes, the second one, i.e, v^2 = u^2 + 2as & F = ma where a = (v - u) / t

F=ma
2as=v^2-u^2 where u=0 ms^-1
s=v^2/2a

Work done= F x s
=ma x v^2/2a
=1/2mv^2
