I used to do the 14 mrks questions by describing all the factors , but the mark schemes says its wrong so i tried to do the other way by evaluating all the factors but the answer seems to be too short (with the earlier method i could reach the required lenth of maximum 2 papges but now i cant get past 1 & 1/2 of it) . Do i do sumthing wrong. Plz help.
Also in the 4 mark questions i learnt that that the requirement is of about 10 lines but in most questions there isn't much material to fit , provided that only a factual account is needed. What to do ?

Dude, don't worry so much about length.
It's your writing quality that counts.
Try to do this:
For example: If the question is: Were Jinnah's 14 points the most important factor in the Pak movement between 1928-1935? [14]

Now, discuss Jinnah's 14 points, not the content, but give a little back ground info like why they happened.
Next, discuss how they helped or how they did not help the Pakistan Movement.
For example, they helped, and they aided Muslims in realising that the Hindus and Muslims were two separate communites, thus establishing the need for a separate land.
They also laid out any future demands for negotiations with the British or Hindus, and became League policy.
Furthermore, the 14 points were established on the grounds of giving Muslims a fair say in government, and representation in the society. Soon, they realised they could not achieve this in the Hindu dominated India, which convinced them that partition was a must.
And then you can sort of link it to the question, like so this is how Jinnah's fourteen points contributed.

4 mark questions, are simple.
1 mark per identified statement, so 4 statements to score 4 marks.
OR 2 statements, explained to some extent will get you 4 marks.

Do not bring the length of the answer into question. Focus on content. That's all that matters, they don't want you to stuff the whole book in the exam!
They want you to use the information you learned in the book and develop your own thinking to link your answers to the question.
The answer I gave you above, I just thought it out So just remember, link your information to the question and form your own reason. That's about as simple as it can get.

ummm
dude
let be of help you
dont study the marking scheme..k ?
a teacher needs to explain you that....you cant do it by yourself

while attempting a 14 mark Q ...for e.g.....Was geographical reasons the most imp reason for partition of bengal in 1905

so.....you need to explain the answer in two factors...meaning....you will talk about the geographical reasons....and analys them

then you will give the development....economic... political reasons...these reasons will be included in the 2nd factor

so you understand right ??
moreover.....analys about everything you right
if you wont analys in the 14 marks question....you wont get a level3 or level 4 answer

analysing is key !!!!
in 4 mark Question
you need to give 4 facts
5 facts maximum
remember....facts ...not like.."it was a success"...or stuff like that

you need to talk about 6-8 things in the 14 mark Q...analys them
in the 7 mark Q you need to talk about 3-4 things....... analys them too

practise this technique two or 3 times.....and you will get it right...INSHALLAH

you dont know how much confused i became after studying the marking scheme al by myself

dont do it by yourself.....get an professional teacher's help

analyzing is key baby !!!!

e.g
Q Islamiztion was the most imp doemstic reform of zia
you will disscuss -ISLAMIZATION (this will be the 1rst fator)
-constitutional.....industrial...educational....(2nd factor)

and while disscussing Q like "was it the most IMPORTANT"

you will never discuss failiure in Qs where they ask about importance
e.g
Zia introduced fedrel sharia court and council of ISlamic ideology.their main objective was to bring the rules and regulations closer to islamic ideology.(NOW I AM ANALYZING) So this brought the the rules and regulations and the whole legal framework of Pakistan closer to ISlamic ideology :D
