Hi, I have tomorrow paper 2 history and i dont know how to write/ start the essay. in paper 1 its easy but paper 2 i have trouble with the sources. and what topics can come up on paper 2 i noticed that topics from the treaty to end of cold war. and our teacher has never done with us the end of cold war or guernica in depth just when hitler used his weapons on spanish civil war. any advices ??

Guys, I also have another problem. Like can u guys help me give some tips on how to answer the sources? Plus, the topic I will be doing is League of Nations (I LOVE THIS TOPIC! ) Additionally, do u guys have any clue on what kind of things might come up related to the League? Like will the Spanish war come? Cause it came in P1 in I hadn't learnt about it at all

Apparently this is the first time League of Nations has come up in P2. Oh well, at least that's what i heard

So only the 1999 paper 2 questions is the league. So i can stop studying about the cold war and hitler ?? Or be on the safe side and study everything ?

No its just a possibility you have to study everything just so you're on the safe side.

Just remember the steps hitler took before goi to war , because the league at the same time had their own problems with their members , you may have to learn hitlers role in the disarmament conference aswelll

Dude there's so much stuff, like Poland, Czechoslovakia, Solidarity, Gorbachev, Cuban missile crisis and the bay of pigs and other major events that were part of the Cold War. Just have a quick look at the book so that you refresh your memory on these events.

There is some info on various topics on the history syllabus as well as videos and a document that teaches you how to do document analysis (paper 2).

For the May/June 2012 exam, you're supposed to be focusing on either What caused the First World War? or To what extent was the Leauge of Nations a success?
NOT ANY ASPECT OF THE COLD WAR!!! Check your syllabus again!
Every year the topics for Paper 2 changes! You may find a year based on the topic youre supposed tombe focusing on, so you should practice that paper however I strongly suggests you go through the entire topic IN DEPTH and look at all the sources in your Text Book for that topic and try understanding what it's saying and how useful it is etc...some of those same sources actually appear in the exam!

By the way: my opinion is WW1 is much easier and there are a lot more papers to practice from on this topic but do whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Also manage your time well!! This paper entails a lot so make sure you mange your time. I suggest going through all the sources first and underlining important parts and making jottings etc so when you go to answer you know what the sources about!
