Ok guys in some questions they say how far do these sources agree about the league ?
Is one of these sources more reliable then the other as evidence about the effectiveness of the league ?
Im having trouble in the opening sentence. Any advice

Start off talking about what the sources say the compare and contrast showing which is more effective or showing how they agree or contradict etc.

If i say in the first question the how far do you agree ... I should write = source a and b both agree and disagree, then talk aboutthe whole source a giving quotes and explanations the results then for source b . How long should the conclusion be at the end ?

If the question as How far does Sources A and B agree?
Start lf saying what Source A says and then what Source B says.
Then show how they agree. Quote the source directly but explain it!
Then show how they disagree (if it does). Quote the source directly but explain it!
The conclusion should be a fast analysis of which one is more and why..

It was tough ? But i managed to do all of them , btw in q.6 i wrote why the league had failed and not about the sources just this problem

Also the papers was good but I never saw that Mussolini was pulled by a rope...someone told me I didn't even see it!

That was my problem question, it was the one where mussolini was pulled by the rope right?
I wrote that it was published in May 1935 because, one month earlier, Germany France and Britain signed a pact at Stresa and that Mussolini got portrayed like this (Looking backwards at Hiter) because he missed his oppertunity of signing a pact with Hitler first hence the subtitle "The girls that he left behind". But I really relied on the background info. It was hard..If only I had seen that goddamn rope which pulled him...I guess it symbolized that he had to continue otherwhise he would be seen as week...

Also, remember the british source in 1935 where one senior officer calls france "treachery in its dirtiest,blacket form", did you write that it was ironic? Because Britain signed the anglo-naval pact with Germany IN THE SAME YEAR which was against the treaty of versailles and could be seen as treachery as France was paranoid about Germanyès recovery..

Ohh i knew nuthing abt that pact ..but isn't may before he invaded abyssinia he invaded on october !!!!
and how come hitler missed the opportunity and u say that germany also signed the pact !!!


Yeah the other source i wrote it was ironic saying that on France ....but i used the second source too saying abt mussolini felt he got a back of a great Power for invading abyssinia ...and that they didn't try 2 stop mussoini

Hey what chapters exactly do i have to study for history paper 1 ?? i know about chapter 4, 8, 9. do i have to study chapter 11 and 12 also for paper 1 ? by the way i am using Ben Walsh

There is some info on various topics on the history syllabus as well as videos and a document that teaches you how to do document analysis (paper 2).

For the May/June 2012 exam, you're supposed to be focusing on either What caused the First World War? or To what extent was the Leauge of Nations a success?
NOT ANY ASPECT OF THE COLD WAR!!! Check your syllabus again!
Every year the topics for Paper 2 changes! You may find a year based on the topic youre supposed tombe focusing on, so you should practice that paper however I strongly suggests you go through the entire topic IN DEPTH and look at all the sources in your Text Book for that topic and try understanding what it's saying and how useful it is etc...some of those same sources actually appear in the exam!

By the way: my opinion is WW1 is much easier and there are a lot more papers to practice from on this topic but do whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Also manage your time well!! This paper entails a lot so make sure you mange your time. I suggest going through all the sources first and underlining important parts and making jottings etc so when you go to answer you know what the sources about!
