Well, I wanted to ask you guys if it is necessary to go through Farooq Bajwa's book atleast once. My schooll teacher says that Kelly is enough and even Iftikhar says its better to use only Nigel smith and kelly but I still wanted to testify this. Look I know there are people from this forum who have studied the book atleast once, so is it worthwhile? Or is it unnecessary?

Thanks .... awaiting replies!

I think its necessary as far as i have studied if u combine it with kelly u r sure to get an awesome result its that good it contains the full details of everything although it is outdated like it does not contain ministries of Benazir and sharif and those relations including the events of Sharif and others its really a good book but the problem is that for reading that book u require a lot of time which u dont have now so decide accordingly as it might blur ur current concepts so see if u can do it as it is pretty long and tells everything, weight the advantages and disadvantages and check if u will do it although i say u do it but ull have to give more then 10 days of straight study for doing complete Sec 1 and 2 from it no need to do Sec 3 from it do it from Kelly and Smith. :p

Yaar see its an old book published in 1998 and contains abt Lodhis and others so u wont have Benazir and Sharif and Musharraf u could do it contains everything except these three and the relations in which their events are not their so its up to u to decide this, well i never did it as most of my schools seniors told me to use Bajwa with Kelly for SEC 1 and 2 and then use Kelly and Smith for sec 3.

SUre take them but most people wont have this book and would regard it as too detailed and too old and just outdated,as they say in my school they wont recognise its worth lets see what they say i await them as eagerly as u doooo/

If you have notes of some reputable teachers, then reading Bajwa would be a sheer waste of time!
But if you don't have any notes (and want to make your own notes) then you MUST go for it. You'l surely get some useful points in it!
Though, it is branded as 'obsolete', but you should also know that Examiners brand those books outdated which are not up-to their new syllabus! (They need all books to be updated after every five years when their syllabuses are revised which, I think, every author can't do)

i think that going through the book for the topics that are asked in past papers is enough and necessary as u see in some of the past paper questions, the exact words of the book are copied in the marking scheme. for example see about the question which asked why did the british decide to take over the control of the affairs of the east india company? u will be surprised how much the examiners regard the book

I agree with Nibz. At this stage, just revise what you've learnt from Nigel Kelly's and Smith's books and practice past papers. That ought to be ample! Good luck.

Just read the Nigel Kelly new edition is contains all about Nawaz Sharif and Musharaf and make the notes like Nibz said !! after a little notes making go through past papers and if your stuck somewhere then use MS or ask some one here !! I think that would be ample for History preparation.

very easy !! see in Cabinet Mission Plan the British proposed that Interm government should be set up (Don't go for what was interm government) in the mean time they would frame a constitution for India then the proposals were later set out which said that pakistan should not be made rather three groups were made
1)Muslim majority in Western India( Area of modern pakistan)
2)Hindu majority
3)Province of Bengal and Assam (again Muslim majority)
British were framing the constitution and the right to opt out of the constitution was also accepted.
Later this mission was rejected as Congress told that it would not be bound by any plans once the British left.
any queries ask me

very well done
but in the 14 mark question of the reforms between 1909-1920, what do u have to write about each reform ie morley minto, lucknow pact,
montague-chelmsford and rowlatt act. can someone post the answer of each of them seperately of morley, lucknow and chelmsford reforms

Just learn the reforms and write them in your answer but again you don't have to describe rather explain them !! :)
