HOW DO THE GRADE THRESHOLDS FOR SCIENCES WORK?

The past year's grade thresholds always say the maximum total mark for the syllabus is 200. I do Paper 1 (40 Marks), Paper 3 (80 marks) & Paper 5 (40 marks). When you add up their total marks you get 160. Can anyone explain how it works and predict what I need for A's in them. Thanks

look....this is what i THINK: :p

the number of marks required out of 200....lets take for example: 150/200 =A*

then they take the % required for A*...150/200x100= 75%

then they do 75%x 160= 120 marks

therefore....u need 120 out of 160 to get an A*....

again...its what i THINK or GUESS....
