If i got component score B , A, C in my AS exam, and after retaking, my result is A, B, C.
Then the marks carried forward will be A, A, C or just the overall highest mark?
I asked the lecturers, they say overall highest mark is chosen. But how come i heard some of the uni allow students to take just a particular paper? Like.. if P1 got A, P2 got C, P3 got B, i can just retake P2 and marks of P1 and P2 carried forward.. How it actually works ???

No.

If you're doing Edexcel then you're allowed to give individual papers. Like, if you get a C (overall) in Chemistry with grad A in P1.. C in P2 and C in P6 then you are allowed to give P2 and P6 individually (though we have units in Edexcel. Don't get confused, was an example).

If you're doing Cambridge then you have to repeat the whole subject even if you got an A in P1.
